Stop watching Iyanla and watch this:

I mean we all know why these conversations go unheard, right? Why homosexuality and interracial dating, marriage and procreation are being perpetuated as a trend/the new norm. Any Black person who doesn’t know, love nor appreciate who they are – regardless of age – will fall victim to the psychological warfare being waged on Black love and togetherness in the media. If you soak up enough images and statements telling you that you and people who favor you are ugly, dumb, undesirable, ghetto, only good for one thing and unworthy of love, you just might start believing that shit! And throw in your male counterparts echoing those sentiments, you may never recover to even be open to any positive, worthwhile partners or friendships.

But these conversations are happening. These men are real. These thoughts do exist within the minds of many Black men.

Thanks for sharing this video, KP! As I mentioned, it had a pornographic influence on me. It is just so damn refreshing to hear my Black brothers speak of us in such high regard! I love the honesty and knowledge they share!

More of this, please.

You are right! Turn off Iyanla and get a dose of feel good about being a BLACK WOMAN! I love it! Thanks for introducing me to the K-OS Project. I was totally unaware of its existence. I have more videos to watch now…

      You’re so welcome, Davina!

I know Iyanla probably does help plenty of people, but the particular series I’m speaking on just doesn’t work for us. What is the point trying to figure out why a Black “man” doesn’t want to date Black women? That’s not my problem. But imagine what that does to young woman’s psyche, watching and hearing such hate and distaste? I see no positive outcome.

Agreed! It was nice to hear these young brothers hold sisters in such high esteem. At 50+ I am cool with who I am – natural hair and all – but it was a journey. I am always concerned about our young sisters self-esteem and glad we are recognizing our beauty more as a people and wearing it proudly. Thanks again for your post! Peace and blessings to you Sis!

I too hope that the younger generations continue to see positive images and the value in our people. Thanks for tuning in.

It took me 2 months but I finally watched this lol. KELLLLLEEYYY this made me feel SO good and appreciated as a black woman. I immediately shared it with my bestfriend and she felt the same. It felt great to know that there are black men who actually do see the beauty in us and CHOOSE US. Thank you for sharing this.

Hey, this is why this blog exists! Of course validation of self is vital, but is it not refreshing to know, without a doubt, that there are Black men who love, appreciate, adore, respect and desire Black women??! You would never know by watching movies or tv and tuning into social media that they still have mad love for us. Mad!

I’m happy to hear you and your bestfriend enjoyed. We all need that pick me up sometimes. And it’s extra special coming from a Black man, it’n it??!
